Jorge is a native of Santa Cruz de la Sierra, Bolivia. He played soccer from the time he could walk. Jorge learned to play in the streets and in the sand, and attended the world-renowned Tahuichi Academy from the age of 8 until age 18. He played as a forward for the Bolivian National Team for the 1985 FIFA U-16 World Cup in Beijing, China. He is also a 2-time Gothia Cup Champion, in Sweden, and a Barcelona Cup Champion in Spain. Jorge played professionally as a forward for the Destroyers of the Bolivian Professional Football League from 1988-1992. Since retiring from playing, Jorge has continued his dedication to the sport and the youth, by training, scouting, and coaching kids of all ages and abilities for most of the last 35 years. He currently coaches and trains several teams in the Albany area, as well as the Eastern NY Olympic Development Program teams.
Jorge has roots in the Capital District where he attended Maple Hill High School as a Rotary Exchange Student from 1986-87.
